Phyllis Williams-Thompson's background spans from 16 years in nonprofit management with national and state nonprofits in the disciplines of strategic marketing-communications, partnership development and social marketing. In her role at the March of Dimes, she serves as the foundation's international ambassador where she secured the organization's first global alliances from Africa, Australia and Europe, when the organization decided in 2009 to expand their Prematurity Campaign to a global initiative. She also is an alumna from the Graduate School at Bay Path college with a Master of Science in Communications & Information Management. Phyllis also currently serves as an adjunct faculty professor in the college's One Day Saturday undergraduate program; where she inspires women of diverse ethnic backgrounds and ages ranging from 21 to 72 to complete their bachelor degrees. She also is a WiP board member-at-large and volunteers extensively in her community. Phyllis views her greatest accomplishment as being a mom to her three children and being a wife of 18 years to her husband, while she simultaneously grows her professional career by practicing daily work-life balance strategies.
